Livepush allows you stream to a YouTube Live Event with your YouTube RTMP stream key without connecting your YouTube channel.

The downside of setting up YouTube manually is that you won't be able to see your live comments in your Livepush Multi chat overlay and you would have to set up each of your YouTube Live events each time you plan on going live.

Requirements

  1. A YouTube channel with Live streaming enabled, because YouTube takes up to 24 hours to activate it for new accounts.

  2. A Livepush account.

Step by step guide

Adding a YouTube Live event with RTMP key is a simple setup which you'll need to do for each of the Live events you want to stream to, when your channel is not linked in Livepush.

Let's walk through the steps.

1- Sign in to your Livepush account (if you don't have one, create your Free Account.

2- Go to your Dashboard Home and click on your live stream i.e. Live Input or Pre-recorded Live.

3- In the Stream Dashboard page, click on Add Destination from the Destinations section on the right.

4- The destinations dialog will appear with all of the supported platforms, click on the "YouTube" icon.

5- Click on Configure Stream Keys button to enter your RTMP key details.

6- Next is to go to your YouTube Studio, select Content tab from the left sidebar, open the CREATE menu from the top right and click Go live.

7- You will be redirected to the Live streaming room. From there, click on the Manage tab from the left sidebar and click SCHEDULE STREAM

8- From the Schedule Event dialog box, click CREATE NEW. This will open a dialog box for you to enter your Live Event details such as; title, description, etc.

9- From the Create Stream dialog box, you will set up your Live Event title, description, tags, privacy settings, pick your schedule time and click Done to save this new Live Event.

10- Once saved, you will be redirected to the Live streaming room for this new Live Event, and you will copy your RTMP stream Key for your Livepush destination.

11- Lastly, go back to your Livepush dashboard and enter the copied RTMP Stream Key into the earlier opened Configure YouTube dialog box in Livepush.

Now click on Save Destination, wait for it to get saved .. and then close the dialog box.

Phew😌 .. you have successfully added your YouTube Live Event as a destination.

Bonus Step: Toggle the "ON/OFF" switch next to your YouTube destination and start streaming to YouTube.
